When incidents do occur, we provide effective incident response to minimise harm to the UK, help with recovery, and learn lessons for the future.

For the first time, we draw together personnel from GCHQ, the MoD, the Secret Intelligence Service (MI6) and the Defence Science and Technology Laboratory (DSTL) under one unified command.

Ever since I was young, I’ve been fascinated by computers. I love taking them apart and trying to put them back together. So although I didn’t want to go to uni, I still wanted to make the most of that passion. The CyberFirst degree apprenticeship option was perfect. I gained a degree, plus loads of friends and even more confidence. Some of my friends back home haven’t even graduated, and I’ve already started my cyber security career at GCHQ.
